Breaking The Duck!

The supremacy & glory of sports in mankind has entered the new era since the first 20th Century Athens Olympics Games incepted in 1896. Although we have just past the mid-way to bicentenary celebrations of this sports, many new Olympics records have been set, broken and re-written, regardless the long-lived or the short-lived, the feats that one obtained remain elusive.
In the annals of Malaysian sports typically in Badminton, none of our fellow Malaysians has ever emerge as a champion may it be in Olympics or World Championships. The best is silver medals and one was won through 2008 Beijing Olympics Games.
Many of us especially badminton fraternity are skeptical about our country athletes’ capability of bringing the first gold home. With London Olympics looming, will the draught end there or might have to wait for another four , eight ,twelve years ……..
Tactically they have been drilled to the cores centre and physically they have been put through the grind. Déjà vu, you and I won’t want to see another sad ending and disastrous episode .
Well, for many countries winning gold medal is like stroll in the park and for us it seems to be a curse.
The one that’s finally end the gold draught will be immortalized or remembered for very long .The agonizing waiting countless years for gold will be put in a far distance and dispelled .
