Another leg of the games may have ended but the monkey is still on the back of the current world No.1 We have witnessed how the current world champion beaten world no.1 on the trot and without any doubt or upsets the feats that this player from Fujian Province achieved will be repeated for many times as far as these two aces clashed. In terms of speed, power, skills and consistency, no player can claim to be superior or on par with this Chinese not even the world no 1.There was a wide gap or vast difference between Lin Dan & Lee but the latter need to polish more in his games if another debacle is to be avoided.
The game of badminton may have played over a hundred years but nobody on earth has ever become a three times world champions with Olympics Gold Medal added to his belt except Lin Dan. Yang Yang was another player also from mainland China during 80es and early 90es era whom ended his swansong as twice the world champions. However, he did clinch gold in Seoul Olympics but badminton was only a demonstration games during 1988 edition and could not be counted in the medals tally. Barcelona 1992 Olympics Games was the incipient year where badminton was sanctioned as the official game. However, there has been a rumor spreading and if this grapevine is to be believed the sport may be dropped after London Olympics 2012. The faith of exquisite badminton will be in limbo.
For sports fraternity, we wouldn’t wanted any games that already in played for so long and been removed .After all, it’s just a game, it posed neither dangerous nor deleterious effect to us
